Irrigation water quality

Prof. dr Waldemar Treder

Water quality is a key parameter affecting the success of crop cultivation. This is especially true for growers using inert substrates, but also for those conducting regular irrigation of plants grown in the soil.

Irrigation water quality is a very broad concept that should be considered simultaneously from several aspects:

  1. consumer safety

  2. toxicity to plants

  3. impact on the appearance and commercial quality of the crop

  4. proper operation of the irrigation system

  5. preparation of fertilizer medium
